As an entrepreneur who's been featured on many podcasts, I'm often asked about where my motivation comes from and how I stay motivated. While I understand that some people may need extra motivation to get started, I don't believe that it's necessary for everyone. Instead, I believe that becoming an entrepreneur is a journey that requires a different way of thinking.
The first step is to train your brain to think like an entrepreneur. This means consuming content differently, such as limiting the amount of time spent on movies and TV shows and instead watching YouTube videos, watching seminars, and evaluating the things being said. It also means being open to learning from unrelated topics, like a YouTube channel about pressure washing, or a painting business, because you will still learn many business concepts and ideas from everyone and anyone even if their business is not what you ultimately want to do. Also join Facebook Groups for businesses you might be interested in. The members in those groups are happy to answer questions and help you out. Reading books and blogs is also important for educating yourself on entrepreneurship.
When you're out in the world, start thinking like an entrepreneur by hypothesizing how businesses make money, what they're doing right, and what they're doing wrong. Even if you're not talking to business owners, thinking about their businesses and how they operate will train your brain to think in an entrepreneurial fashion. Soon, you'll start noticing opportunities for making money all around you.
By training your brain to think like an entrepreneur, motivation becomes less important. You'll start seeing opportunities and evaluating them more quickly and confidently. Instead of hesitating, you'll be able to understand things better and decide if it's something you want to pursue or not.
In conclusion, if you want to be an entrepreneur, motivation isn't the most important thing. Instead, focus on training your brain to think like an entrepreneur every single day. By doing this, you'll start seeing opportunities and ways of making money all around you.
